I told you Google was going to take over the world. But not in the, Pinky & The Brain Evil way. Google goes on the offensive move. I like billboards.

Do you remember Google Chrome and its’ comic? Or how about their commercials? Well, it looks like Google is getting creative with their campaigns to promote G-Apps, or Gapps as I call them.  Some may consider this to be a direct attack on Microsoft and that is understandable. Microsoft has dominated the suite of computer solutions in word/data processing. Google takes the idea of the classic cloud computing + the internet to give folks a chance to share data and information with each other. And what is Microsoft feeling about all this? I don’t know. I don’t work for Microsoft. But I do know some time in 2010 – you know, that sounds far and futuristic, but it’s next year! – Microsoft will be releasing comparable web apps, free. Free?! Yessum.

Here is the Google Apps Billboard Video:

The 4 destinations to bestow its’ population to the billboards are: San Francisco, New York, Chicago and Boston. Apart from the campaign being called “Going Google,” they are also trying to go green. The actual vinyl material being used will be recycled or reused. And in other efforts to promote Going Google, Twitter will also be used. You can find the activity via the hashtag #gonegoogle. Is Microsoft shaking in their boots? Probably not. The 1.75 million business and organizations Going Google is relatively small compared to the users on Microsoft Office. You can also follow them on twitter here and help “spread the word.
